how can i help?

I am happy to provide therapy sessions to individual adults and youth, as well as to families of all ages, shapes, and sizes.  My approach to psychotherapy is from an attachment-, trauma-, and neuropsychology-informed perspective, however I make use of a variety of therapeutic modalities and tools to meet the needs of my clients.  Some of the issues I can help you address include:

  • Attachment and bonding difficulties between family members

  • Struggles with transitions in parenthood, including becoming a parent for the first time

  • Family discord and negative family dynamics

  • Co-parenting struggles

  • Adoption/Fostering

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma, including emotional and medical trauma

  • Experiences of abuse

  • Sadness and depression

  • Worries, anxiety, and stress

  • Sexual identity*

  • Gender identity*

  • Difficulties with peers and social relationships

  • Self-esteem difficulties

  • Trouble saying "no" and setting boundaries

  • Feeling "stuck", or breaking negative patterns of behaviour

  • Women’s empowerment and mental health

*I approach psychotherapy from a sexual-orientation and gender affirming perspective and a place of allyship.

With Whom do i work, Where, and how?

Depending on a client’s age and needs, I offer the following therapy formats:

  • “E-therapy”/online sessions: if appropriate, are offered to individual adults and/or parents living anywhere in Ontario, including local clients who may simply prefer the flexibility that this format offers; a secure video-chat platform (OwlPractice) is used for e-therapy sessions. To contact me directly about working with me for Individual Adult therapy or Parenting-Coaching sessions, please feel free to contact me here.

  • In-office sessions: available for parents, families and individual youth** on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 35 Main Street North, in Waterdown, as well as on Fridays at The Oak Centre for Child & Family Psychology, in Oakville. To discuss working together through The Oak Centre, please feel free to contact the clinic directly.

**Where clients are children under the age of 13, my preference is always to include parents in our work, at least periodically and while still respecting client confidentiality; this includes a parents-only session at the beginning of our work together.
